We are currently seeking staff writers who are passionate about queer culture and have experience writing news articles, feature stories, and opinion pieces. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of LGBTQ+ issues, a talent for crafting engaging content, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
Homo.news is a queer news and satire website dedicated to providing LGBTQ+ readers with a platform for diverse perspectives, opinions, and cultural analysis. Our goal is to amplify queer voices, celebrate queer culture, and educate readers about important social and political issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community. We publish original content, opinion pieces, and satire articles that spark conversations, inspire change, and challenge societal norms. We are a volunteer-run website and believe in creating an inclusive and supportive community of queer writers.
You are a passionate writer committed to sharing your unique voice, experiences, and perspectives with our readers. You are an LGBTQ+ individual or ally with a deep understanding of queer culture, issues, and politics. You have a talent for writing and can produce engaging, thought-provoking, and informative articles on a variety of topics related to the LGBTQ+ community. You are self-motivated, able to meet deadlines, and excited to be part of a collaborative team of queer writers.
As a staff writer for homo.news, you will be responsible for producing original content, opinion pieces, and satire articles on a variety of topics related to the LGBTQ+ community. This includes news, culture, entertainment, politics, and opinion pieces. You will work closely with the editorial team to develop ideas, pitch articles, and meet deadlines. This is an unpaid volunteer position, but offers an incredible opportunity to gain experience in queer journalism, connect with a supportive community of queer writers, and build your portfolio while helping to shape Homo.news. And who knows, maybe some day we'll start making money and be able to transition you to paid role.
Please send your resume, writing sample(s), and a brief introduction to info@homo.news. We welcome writers of all levels and backgrounds, but are specifically looking for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies who are passionate about queer journalism and advocacy. Let's make queer history together!
